WHERE WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

St Anthony's Parish Church, in the Diocese of Down & Connor, is situated on the Woodstock Road in East Belfast.  Although we are a small community, we join in all aspects of the spiritual life of the church, including Ministry of the Word and Eucharist.

In union with the Roman Catholic Church throughout the world, our Parish seeks to advance the mission of Jesus Christ; that everyone may know God's love for them, and grow in union with God and with one another.  Our faith is celebrated through our Parish Liturgy, informed by the Word of God and strengthened by the Eucharist.

Today our Church is growing, rejoicing in a community of people who gather to pray and celebrate the Eucharist, giving praise and thanks to God for his love. All people are called to be part of God's Kingdom and so we must continually search for ways to reach out and serve others as Jesus did. . . .

Our Choir
"To sing is to pray twice" (St. Augustine)
Gertrude Brady was our first resident organist and choir mistress, leading the hymn singing at two masses on Sundays and teaching the children's choir. When Gertie retired, the new Director of Music, Dr Grzegorz Skibinski took over the training of the choir and introduced a wide-ranging repertoire of music. This includes Classical, Christian popular ballads as well as Gregorian Chant.  In addition to enhancing Church Worship with music, the choir are in demand for Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals and other occasions. New members are most welcome. Rehearsals are held after Sunday Mass (short rehearsal) and Monday nights (7.30-9.00pm).  If you would like to join the choir and learn new music, please speak to Greg or Fr Stephen or any choir member.

If you are a former parishioner we would love to hear from you
